Pierce's Disease is a bacterial infection, which is spread by bugs that feed on grapevines, particularly the "glassy winged sharpshooter." Grapevines that become infected with PD can quickly become sick and die.
A Pierce's Disease Research Symposium will not be held in 2017. A collection of research progress reports, similar to the annual Proceedings, will be prepared and available in late December 2017.
