- Abstract: Effects of Allium-based formulae such as garlic juice (GJ) and the extracts of ethanol (GAE) and ethyl ether (GEE), onion juice (OJ) and the ethanol extract (OAE), garlic juice+Merit Blue (G+M), ethanol extract of garlic juice+Merit Blue (GAE+M), onion juice+Merit Blue (O+M), ethanol extract of onion+Merit Blue (OAE+M), and Merit Blue (M) on budbreak, flowering, and maturity of Delaware grapes were studied for the establishment of techniques in forcing culture of Delaware grapes under plastic houses. M alone or in combination was effective for hastening the budbreak in respective early and late forcing culture in Delaware. But percent budbreak was decreased by the treatment. Flowering in Delaware was hastened by single or double application of M. Differences of flowering date between early and late forcing culture were 10 and 6 days in double application, and 9 days in single application, respectively. Harvest date in early forcing culture was hastened by all treatments, and especially 13 or 11 days were hastened by single application of G+M or double application of M, respectively. Therefore, single application of GAE+M or double application of OJ was effective in late forcing culture of Delaware grapes.
